Working with Communities
The Full Story
Sharing the practice of art-making is special and incredibly rewarding. Watching people grow through learning new skills together is proven invaluable to me time and time again.

I developed an arts programme for young people during my time working with an organisation for refugees and asylum seekers in the Northeast. It grew from being one Saturday session to occupy children whose parents were attending English classes, to sessions almost every day and a curriculum - esque focus in each long session. I watched friendships bloom and confidence build, and from there I got into my rhythm of developing and delivering workshops that are best suited to the group that approaches me, whether that's book making, sculpting, collective painting or more.

The point to me, is to make build relationships and confidence through the medium of art, so that it makes you want to take away that skill and try it out again.
